“Direct Action, Direct Care” Street Medic Workshop
Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated Higher Education, PreK-12, Public Employee and PSRP unions and chapters are invited to attend this new safety course focused on direct action, protest and civil disobedience.* Participants will learn the essential skills to provide emergency medical care in high-stress environments. The session will cover:
- the role of street medics;
- understanding the Good Samaritan law;
- adult first aid for common protest injuries;
- triage and patient assessment;
- teamwork, buddy systems & scene safety.
Snacks provided. Participants are advised to dress comfortably.
