AFT CT 78th Annual Business Convention

The tentative agenda for our state federation’s annual business convention is linked below (in “First Call to Convention” packet) and may be further revised. Schedule will include votes on executive committee members and officers to serve through 2027, as well as properly proposed amendments to AFT Connecticut’s bylaws, constitution and resolutions.
Deadlines for proposed constitutional amendments, resolutions and award nominations follow:
Mar 03 2025 – proposed amendments to the AFT Connecticut Constitution
Apr 01 2025 – nominations for the Joseph H. Soifer Award and the Unionist of the Year
Apr 03 2025 – proposed dues related amendments to the AFT Connecticut Constitution
Apr 12 2025 – resolutions for consideration by Convention delegates
Deadline is Apr 18 2025 (subject to further change) for participating local unions to submit the following (applicable documents, below) to AFT Connecticut (via postal mail):
Credentials;
Local dues (paid through February 2025);
Names and addresses of local’s principal executive and financial officers;
Names and addresses of local’s current executive board members;
Local’s full membership roster (excel spreadsheet, preferred);
Copy of local’s current constitution; &
Copy of local’s audit/review/internal review/financial statement compilation.
Local leaders can determine if they are in good standing by reviewing the “Is Your Local in Good Standing?” document included in “First Call” packet (below).
