Public Higher Education Budget Cuts Town Hall

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the professors, faculty and staff in Connecticut’s public higher education in demanding legislative action to stop painful budget cuts. The purpose is to press General Assembly House Speaker Matt Ritter to call for a vote to allocate resources in 2024 to the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system.

Members are urged to bring at least one colleague with them to demonstrate the collective commitment and people-based power to deliver the quality higher education students need and deserve. The event is organized by our affiliated Federation of Technical College Teachers and CSU-AAUP, as well as their colleagues in 4Cs, SEIU Local 1973 and AFSCME Council 4, Local 2480.
