“Direct Action, Direct Care” Street Medic Workshop (Morning Session)
Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated Higher Education, PreK-12, Public Employee and PSRP unions are invited to attend this new safety course focused on direct action, protest and civil disobedience preparation.* Participants will learn the essential skills to provide emergency medical care in high-stress environments. The session will cover:
– the role of street medics;
– understanding the Good Samaritan law;
– adult first aid for common protest injuries;
– triage and patient assessment;
– teamwork, buddy systems & scene safety.
Snacks provided. Participants advised to dress comfortably.

Note: there is an additional evening session scheduled for the day before.
