Storrs Day of Action for Higher Ed – NEW LOCATION

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the professors, faculty, staff, and students at UConn for an action in coordination with national higher education labor unions. The purpose is to demonstrate resistance to the Trump Administration cutting grants, threatening student aid, stifling free speech and curriculum.

The event kicks off with a press conference at 12:00 pm featuring U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Representative Joe Courtney, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and State Senator Mae Flexer.

Visibility actions are taking place the same day at UConn’s campuses in Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury and Avery Point, as well as the Legislative Office Building adjacent to the State Capitol. The events are being organized by our affiliated UConn-AAUP, UCHC-AAUP and UConn Professional Employees Association (UCPEA), as well as our colleagues in GEU-UAW, AFSCME NP-3 and CEUI
