Unemployment Insurance for Striking Workers Lobby Day
Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to participate in this effort coordinated by the state’s labor movement aimed at passing legislation extending unemployment benefits to striking workers. The proposal would level the playing field for union members standing up to employers who refuse to resolve disputes at the bargaining table.
AFT Connecticut’s legislative advocates will be on hand to help identify elected representatives. Members are encouraged to bring at least one colleague to help pass the proposed legislation into law and further empower union members to exercise their legal right to strike.
