Hartford Yard Goats “Organized Labor Night”
Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the Hartford Yard Goats for their annual appreciation of all those represented by our country’s unions. The team holds the celebration to honor the history and contributions working people have made and to support the charitable efforts of the Connecticut AFL-CIO and the Connecticut Building and Construction Trades Council.
Members are encouraged to wear their local union and/or AFT Connecticut gear to the game. The event is co-sponsored by our affiliated Hartford Federation of Teachers.
The game, which features the Yard Goats playing Portland Sea Dogs – AA Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, begins at 6:10pm. Gates open at 4:30pm with pre-game ceremonies starting at 5:30pm.
Attendees are encouraged to support the Household & Toiletry Goods Drive for working families in need by bringing items such as:
- toilet paper;
- napkins;
- facial tissue;
- paper towels;
- soap;
- shampoo;
- deodorant; &
- toothpaste.
A donation drop-off will be located just inside the main gates under the “Starting Lineups.”
