Congressional & Legislative Primary Election
Polls across Connecticut are open for primary elections for select federal congressional and state legislative seats. Registered voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots for candidates from their registered political party only in contested races * for:
- U.S. Senate;
- U.S. House; &
- Connecticut General Assembly (state Senate and House).
Absentee ballots will be available beginning Jul 23 and must be received by respective voters’ Town Clerks by no later than 8:00pm on Election Day. Early voting in person is available from Aug 05 to Aug 11 at designated locations from 10am to 6pm (except for Aug 06 and Aug 08 when hours are extended to 8am to 8pm).

* For registered Democrats, there are 15 contested primaries for Connecticut House and Senate seats. For registered Republicans, there are contested primaries for the U.S. Senate and for the 4th U.S. Congressional District as well as two Connecticut House and Senate seats.
