CT People’s World Amistad Awards: It’s an Enough is Enough Moment! Time to Organize!
AFT Connecticut’s social and economic justice community allies in the New Haven-based Connecticut People’s World are celebrating the contributions of local labor activists and union leaders. Each is being recognized for their commitment to organizing priorities that address racial equity, climate change, voting rights and the common good. They were also selected for fighting for the rights of essential – and all, regardless of immigration status – working people.
This year’s honorees include:
- State Sen. Gary Winfield;
- AFSCME Council 4 President Stacie Harris-Byrdsong; &
- Husky 4 Immigrants Coalition Manager Luis Luna.
