Unemployment for Striking Workers Picket at the Governor’s Mansion

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to participate in this effort coordinated by the state’s labor movement aimed at passing legislation extending unemployment benefits to striking workers. The proposal would level the playing field for union members standing up to employers who refuse to resolve disputes at the bargaining table.

Both the House and Senate have passed this legislation, but Governor Lamont is threatening to veto it. If so, he would be siding with corporations over working people – it’s time we show our strength at his mansion and urge he sign Senate Bill 8 into law.

Please register to participate and help us organize effectively.

Parking Info: Street parking is available nearby on Prospect Ave, Asylum Ave, Whitney St. Fern St, Terry Rd, Sycamore Rd, Wheaton Rd, and Woodland St – all within walking distance. Please observe posted signs for restrictions or permit requirements.

Tell Gov. Lamont it’s past time to do the right thing – SIGN Senate Bill 8 into law!
