Storrs Day of Action for Higher Ed

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the professors, faculty, staff, and students at UConn for an action in coordination with national higher education labor unions. The purpose is to demonstrate resistance to the Trump Administration cutting grants, threatening student aid, stifling free speech and curriculum.

The event kicks off with a press conference at 12:00 pm featuring U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Representative Joe Courtney and Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz.   

Simultaneous visibility actions are taking place at UConn’s campuses in Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury and Avery Point. The events are being organized by our affiliated UConn-AAUP and UConn Professional Employees Association (UCPEA), as well as our colleagues in GEU-UAW, AFSCME NP-3 and CEUI. 

Fee-based parking for visitors is available on the Storrs main campus.
