“Code Red: Mental Health Needs/Union Solutions” Training
Note: replaces regular scheduled Healthcare Council meeting.
This new professional development workshop for members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated healthcare unions will help caregivers identify mental health needs and develop union solutions. This “train the trainer” session is aimed at addressing occupational stress, burnout and moral injury as a part of our national AFT’s Code Red campaign.
The first part of the session will focus on the impacts of chronic stress on physical and mental health and the root causes of burnout and moral injury. The second part will move from discussion to engagement and empower leaders to challenge members to take action with Code Red resources and tools.
The presenter is national AFT Health Issues Assistant Director Sara Markle-Elder.
