“Save Public Higher Education” Press Conference

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the professors, faculty and staff in Connecticut’s public higher education in demanding legislative action to protect public higher education. The purpose is to stop the significant budget cuts coming to the CT State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) and expected for the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 2024 and 2025.

To send a strong, unified message to the governor and legislative leaders, members are urged to bring at least one colleague and, if applicable, student with them. The event is organized by our affiliated Federation of Technical College Teachers, University Health Professionals (UHP), UConn Professional Employees Association (UCPEA), CSU-AAUP, UConn-AAUP, UCHC-AAUP as well as their colleagues in the 4Cs, the New England Health Care Employees District 1199/SEIU, the Connecticut Employees Union Independent (CEUI) and AFSCME Council 4.
