Seven Days in June “Health Cuts Kill” Vigil
Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions and chapters are invited to honor those who have already lost and the millions more at risk of losing their medical coverage. Over $1 trillion in federal health funding cuts included in last summer’s “Big Ugly Law” are set to take effect after the November elections. Over 14 million people are at risk, in addition to jobs, hospitals and research across the nation, of losing critical care and vital resources.
The non-partisan vigil is part of a national, grassroots-driven week of action aimed at raising awareness of the looming crisis. This local event is being led by UNITE-HERE and co-sponsored by AFT Connecticut and affiliated local unions, as well as many New Haven-based community organizations.
Free parking is available after 4:00 pm in Yale University’s lot 96, located near Amistad Street and Gilbert Street, on campus.
