Danbury Hospital Nurses and WCHN Adopt Agreement for New Three-Year Contract

Danbury - After collaborative negotiations with the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN), members of the Danbury Nurses Union, Unit 47, AFT Local 5047 overwhelmingly ratified a tentative agreement with WCHN on Friday, April 4. The new collective bargaining agreement covers approximately 600 registered nurses (RNs) at Danbury Hospital through March 31, 2017.

Tell Legislators to Support Safe Staffing in Our Hospitals

Legislation that would have a positive impact on the quality of patient care in our community hospitals -- and on our members who provide it -- has been raised at the State Capitol. The legislature’s Public Health Committee just held a hearing on the bill and many nurses in AFT Connecticut unions testified in support and told their stories.
 
Now these lawmakers need to hear from you.
 

L+M Unions Ratify Agreement; Parties Jointly Committed to System Success

New London - Registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), health technicians and technologists at Lawrence + Memorial today ratified a tentative agreement reached between the two parties last week. The ratification marks the end of a labor dispute that began in November when the previous contract covering the nearly 800 members of AFT Locals 5049 and 5051 expired.
