PSRPs work as paraprofessionals, teaching assistants, tutors, secretaries, school nurses, custodians and others who provide critical services that support student learning. AFT president Randi Weingarten joined with Cartoon Network on April 3 to launch the "Stop Bullying: Speak Up" Flag Raising Campaign, a new partnership that will provide educators in more than a thousand schools nationwide with bullying prevention materials and curriculum suggestions.

Congratulations to Connecticut’s first Paraprofessional of the Year, Tenisha Baker, who is currently an instructional paraprofessional at Sunset Ridge Elementary Academy for Arts and World Language in East Hartford, Conn. She works with students in Grades 4 through 6 who often need support in language arts and math.
