Rally to Save UConn & UConn Health

Date:
Fri, 09/22/2017 - 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Local unions representing the faculty and support staff at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and UConn Health are organizing an emergency action to defeat the recently passed Republican state budget scheme. The two-year fiscal blueprint approved on September 16 makes over $300 million in cuts to vital services at the state's flagship university and health center.

The governor has publicly pledged to reject it with a formal veto — but has not yet done so. The purpose of this action is both to keep up the pressure for him to follow through and while demonstrating to lawmakers that crippling cuts to UConn are unconscionable.

Rally to take place at 12:30PM on the second floor of the LOB in room 5100.
