PSRP "Train-the-Trainer" Professional Development Conference

Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions representing Paraprofessionals and School-Related Personnel (PSRPs) are invited to this four-day conference to learn new curricula and skills. The event is hosted by AFT's local affiliate representing the paraeducators in Springfield (MA) Public Schools and is supported by our national union's PSRP department.
 
The goal is for participants to be able to bring their learning back to their locals and districts and help train their co-workers going forward. The conference is part of our state and national unions' commitment to providing high-quality professional learning, membership-engagement and leadership opportunities.
 
Five different workshops will be presented over the four days: 
  • Monday & Tuesday:
  1. The World of Social and Emotional Learning; 
  2. The Art of Minimizing Stress and Practicing Self-Care in the Workplace and Home; 
  • Wednesday & Thursday:
  1. Supporting Grieving Students; 
  2. Demystifying Higher Order Thinking; &
  3. Restorative Practices - Step One-Forming and Maintaining Positive Professional Relationships with Students and Co-Workers.
