SUMMARY:“Direct Action, Direct Care” Street Medic Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\nMembers of AFT Connecticut-affiliated Higher Education, PreK-12, Public Employee and PSRP unions and chapters are invited to attend this new safety course focused on direct action, protest and civil disobedience.* Participants will learn the essential skills to provide emergency medical care in high-stress environments. The session will cover:\n\n\n\n\nthe role of street medics;\n\n\n\nunderstanding the Good Samaritan law;\n\n\n\nadult first aid for common protest injuries;\n\n\n\ntriage and patient assessment;\n\n\n\nteamwork, buddy systems & scene safety.\n\n\n\n\nSnacks provided.
