DESCRIPTION:\nNOTE: location further revised from originally announced.\n\n\n\nMembers of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions are invited to join the professors, faculty, staff, and students at UConn for an action in coordination with national higher education labor unions. The purpose is to demonstrate resistance to the Trump Administration cutting grants, threatening student aid, stifling free speech and curriculum.\n\n\n\nThe event kicks off with a press conference at 12:00 pm featuring U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Representative Joe Courtney, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and State Senator Mae Flexer.\n\n\n\nVisibility actions are taking place the same day at UConn’s campuses in Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury and Avery Point, as well as the Legislative Office Building adjacent to the State Capitol.
