SUMMARY:UConn “Day of Action at the Board of Trustees Meeting”
DESCRIPTION:\nMembers of AFT Connecticut-affiliated union members are invited to join the professors, faculty and staff in the state’s flagship higher education institution in protecting their students’ learning opportunities. The purpose is to move University of Connecticut (UConn) trustees and top administrators to stand up to the governor’s proposed budget cuts in 2024 and 2025. \n\n\n\nTo send a strong, unified message to the governor and board of trustees (BOT), members are urged to bring at least one colleague and, if applicable, student with them. Rally begins at 8:15 am at the Founder’s Green. The public speaking portion of the BOT meeting beginning at 9:00 am will provide the opportunity for sharing stories of the impact of the threatened cuts. \n\n\n\nThe “teach-in” is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am at McHue Hall, room 101.
