DESCRIPTION:\nMembers of AFT Connecticut-affiliated healthcare and public employee unions are invited to attend this first-ever combined professional issues conference (PIC). They will have the opportunity to join leaders and activists from across the country to tackle common problems with creative unique solutions that protect public services and health.\n\n\n\nEach division’s agenda will feature a keynote speaker and relevant workshops throughout the two and half day event. Select healthcare PIC sessions provide nursing contact hours to qualifying participants. *\n\n\n\nClick here for the Public Employees’ PIC agenda.\n\n\n\nClick here for AFT Nurses and Health Professionals’ PIC agenda.\n\n\n\nClick here to register to attend.\n\n\n\n* Learning Outcome: 90% of attendees will report an increase in knowledge of strategic approaches to improve the quality-of-care patients receive and promote safe staffing through education, outreach, advocacy, contract bargaining, and legislation.\n\n\n\nSuccessful Completion: attendees must attend 100% of a session and complete an evaluation to receive up to eleven (11) nursing contact hours.\n\n\n\nAmerican Federation of Teachers is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, P#0003.\n\n\n\nAFT-NHP is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing Provider Number CEP 17108.\n
