SUMMARY:Hartford Paraeducators’ “Reading Opens the World”
DESCRIPTION:\nMembers of our AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions representing paraeducators in Hartford Public Schools are teaming up with their colleagues to bring new books to local children. Several community organizations and local businesses are also co-sponsoring the event. Together they are partnering with First Book, an international non-profit social enterprise dedicated to provide brand new, free, and low-cost reading material to kids from low-income families. \n\n\n\nMembers, parents and advocates are also encouraged to volunteer beforehand and during the event with sorting and distribution.\n\n\n\nClick here to learn more about the “Reading Opens the World” initiative. \n\n\n\nClick here for a flyer to share.\n
