SUMMARY:Petitioning to Support Windham Hospital Nurses at 3rd Thursday Street Fest
DESCRIPTION:\nMembers of all AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions and chapters are invited to show solidarity for the registered nurses at Windham Hospital who are demanding safer working conditions and “patients before profits.” Nurses will be attending Willimantic’s Third Thursday Street Fest ( https://willimanticstreetfest.com/ ) to help spread the word about their current negotiations for a fair successor contract with Hartford HealthCare, the network that operates the area’s only acute care facility.\n\n\n\nThe fest begins at 6:00 pm and concludes at 9:00 pm. Feel free to stop by at any point during that time. Our booth will be located in the Way Uptown section of Main Street. Booth #69, located right outside the Willimantic Public Library.*\n\n\n\nMembers unable to attend are encouraged to show support for our affiliated Windham Federation of Professional Nurses members by signing their community petition ( https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeLlosl4pjvh76ozmd6gwyD8WkUw2BizzMxuLTWJbkL1o7-VQ/viewform ).\n\n\n\n*Parking: Main Street is closed to vehicle traffic during the event. Recommended parking locations are the Valley Street parking lot, the Walnut Street garage (approach from Bank Street after 6 PM), or street parking on side streets.\n
