Paraeducators "Living Wage" Roundtable - POSTPONED

This hybrid meeting is being organized by a coalition of labor unions representing public school paraeducators, including AFT Connecticut. The purpose is to take further steps in a coordinated legislative action plan designed to secure living wages, more professional development and a stronger voice in planning and placement meetings.
Agenda includes discussion of progress to date and additional collective efforts to advocate for proposed legislation aimed at improving paras' working and students’ learning conditions. The focus is on H.B. 6881, An Act Concerning Various Revisions to the Education Statutes Related to Educator Compensation and Paraeducators, which is currently being deliberated.
Participants may gather in-person at the Legislative Office Building (LOB) next to the State Capitol building in Hartford or join virtually via Zoom.
