This action is being organized by a coalition of labor unions representing public school paraeducators, including AFT Connecticut. The purpose is to take further steps in a coordinated legislative action plan designed to secure living wages, more professional development and a stronger voice in planning and placement meetings.

Agenda includes brief one-on-one meetings for members and their elected representatives in the Connecticut General Assembly. The focus is on passing the individual initiatives in H.B. 6881, An Act Concerning Various Revisions to the Education Statutes Related to Educator Compensation and Paraeducators

AFT Connecticut’s legislative advocates will be on hand to help identify elected representatives. Members are encouraged to wear their union tee-shirts and bring at least two colleagues to help pass proposed legislative initiatives into law.
