AFT CT 76th Annual Business Convention

IB ImageThe tentative agenda for our state federation's annual business convention is linked below (in "First Call to Convention" packet) and may be further revised. Schedule will include votes on the federation's officers and executive board members to serve through 2025. Properly proposed amendments to AFT Connecticut's bylaws, constitution and resolutions will also be up for consideration, if applicable.
 
Deadlines for proposed constitutional amendments, resolutions and award nominations (in "First Call" packet, below) follow:
  • Mon, 03/06/2023 - proposed amendments to the AFT Connecticut Constitution
  • Sat, 04/01/2023 - nominations for the Joseph H. Soifer Award and the Unionist of the Year
  • Thu, 04/06/2023 - proposed dues related amendments to the AFT Connecticut Constitution
  • Fri, 04/14/2023 - resolutions for consideration by Convention delegates
Deadline is Fri, 04/21/2023 (subject to further change) for participating local unions to submit the following (applicable documents, below) to AFT Connecticut (via email or postal mail):
  • Credentials;
  • Local dues (paid through February 2023);
  • Names and addresses of local's principal executive and financial officers;
  • Names and addresses of local’s current executive board members;
  • Local’s full membership roster (excel spreadsheet, preferred);
  • Copy of local’s current constitution; &
  • Copy of local’s audit/review/internal review/financial statement compilation.
Local leaders can determine if they are in good standing by reviewing the “Is Your Local in Good Standing?" document included in packet (below).
