Eastern ALF Workers Memorial Day Ceremony

Date:
Wed, 04/28/2021 - 6:00am - 7:00am
Note: due to COVID-19 protocols, in-person attendance is limited to 100 people; members are encouraged to watch the ceremony online (access below) to avoid exceeding capacity.

Join the Eastern Area Labor Federation (ALF), the Connecticut AFL-CIO's Community Partnerships and the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut for this annual commemoration. The event, held on the anniversary of the creation of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), honors working people killed or injured on the job.

The sunrise ceremony includes laying of wreaths and reading aloud the names of those who have passed at the Workers Memorial in Washington Park. This year’s event will memorize Elva Graveline, a member of our affiliated L&M Health Care Workers union, who succumbed last May to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) contracted on the job.
