Our allies in the Democracy, Unity and Equality (D.U.E.) Justice coalition are coordinating this legislative action focused on the governor and lawmakers in the General Assembly. The purpose is to demand elected leaders pass a moral state budget that asks the ultra-rich to pay their fair share toward preserving Connecticut's quality of life for all.
The event was announced at the legislature in early April during an action on the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated local unions are encouraged to participate and add their collective voices to this effort, which takes place days before the legislature adjourns for 2019.
  • 4:00PM - gathering;
  • 4:45PM - rally & action.
Goal of the rally to demand a state budget that will:
  • Ensure good jobs & fair wages;
  • Protect vital public services;
  • Fully fund public schools;
  • Protect and expand quality, affordable healthcare;
  • Expand clean energy & protect the environment; &
  • Advance a shared prosperity for all.
