Retired State Employees Lobby Day

Date:
Wed, 04/18/2018 - 10:30am - 1:00pm
Connecticut's state employee retiree organizations are teaming up for a "Lobby Day for Retired State Employees." CSEA/SEIU Local 2001's Council 400 and the Association of Retired Americans (ARA) have invited retired members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated public employee unions to join them in this effort. The purpose is to advocate for pay, pension and healthcare benefits — which face grave threats at the legislature -- for both active and retired public service workers.

Retired union members will meet face-to-face with legislators to talk firsthand about current proposals to roll-back active state employee’s rights to negotiate pension and health benefits. If passed and signed into law, retirement security for all past, present and future public employees would be at serious risk.

NOTE -- arrive by 10:30AM for free shuttle transportation to the Legislative Office Building is provided and highly recommended due to limited parking at the State Capitol complex.

RSVP by sending email to Legislative Advocate Jim Vigue (contact info below).
