Registered Nurse Megan Richardson has something unique in common with the babies in the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UConn Health Center. When she was born prematurely, Megan was cared for in the same NICU.

“I got my nursing degree from UConn and I’m proud to work in the NICU where I was born,” says Megan.

Megan and the other hundred nurses in the UConn NICU care for up to 30 babies around the clock in the health center’s largest unit. “Our patients require specialized care that goes way beyond changing diapers. It’s a good feeling when you know parents trust you to take care of their children.”

Connecticut needs Megan Richardson. She and her co-workers give our littlest citizens a fighting chance for life. We need to keep Megan and other state employees doing work that matters.
