Allyson Kinney left a full-time job as a computer programmer in 1986 to become a teacher at Gateway Community Technical College in North Haven.

“I didn’t feel like I was making a difference,” says Allyson. “Teaching makes a difference. It has become a part of the fabric of my life.”

Allyson teaches computer programming and utilizes her industry experience to help students in their career path.

“I work with area businesses to set up internships that have proven to be very successful for our students,” says Allyson.

State employees like Allyson Kinney are essential to creating jobs in Connecticut that will help our economy grow. We need to keep them doing work that matters.
